Ayurvedo Rasyananam

  • Ayurveda, the divine way of life is a 5,000 year old knowledge of natural healing that dates its origins in the Vedic culture of India. It is the first medical system which emphasizes on the motto 'Prevention is better than cure.’
  • In ancient time, when diseases emerged and obstructed the successful implementations of Dharma (religious beliefs), Dharati (earth), Kamana (desire), and Moksha (freedom), learned ‘Mam’s’ and sages held an intellectual conclave in the Himalayas. Ari eminent sage, Sage Bharadwaj was sent to Lord Indra to seek a yeilding solution to this problem. Comming to the rescue, Lord Brahma unleashed the benevolent knowledge of Ayurveda and arranged it in total oforie lakh sutras. These satras were then divided into eight sub branches and were handed over to The Ashwini kumar’s and they ultimately handed it over to Lord Indra.
  • Indra, furtherpassed on this knowledge to Bharadwaj, who shared his profound perception with 44 acharyas in the Himalayan conclave.
  • The Samhitas were then written to propagate the immense knowledge ofAyarveda in the best interests of the modern world. Pouring with a list ofhealth advices, techniques, devotional mantras, choral prayers and blessings, The Vedic Samhitas constitute of one of the oldest part of Hindu traditions. ‘Charaka Samhita’,
  • ‘Sushrata Samhita’ and ‘Ashtanga Sangraha’ are referred to as ‘The Brahattrayees’ i.e. the threefoundation texts ofAyurveda. They explain the core values, concepts and the science of Ayurveda.
  • All medicinal practicesfollow one fundamental objective, to care the diseases and to reduce the safi‘ering arialpain. Unfortunately, authorized interests have led to a situation where this objective has started to fade. We feel that with the advent ofglohalization and advanced communication being easily available, the time for an integrated approach for the treatment of disease has arrived. The Indian system of Ayurveda is based on Flora, Fauna and the environment, and has withstood the test of time for over 5000 years. ‘Ayarveda’ in recent times saflered due to two mainfactors. Firstly, In the pre-independence era the colonial powers in order to promote western medicine totally neglected Ayurveda and deliberately attempted to condemn it for being an outdated concept. Even after independence this negligence continued for almost 40 years.
  • Ayurveda is the most commonly used health care system in the country, except in urban areas. Yet in the recent time, Ayurveda is being accorded its clue but that too gradually. The main aim ofNanal Research Foundation is to try and work in the direction of establishing the lost glory ofAyurveda. To bringforth the logical, rational and scientific structure of its knowledge base to the practitioners of other health care systems, it helps to acquire its rightful place in the health care delivery system structure of the country.
Our Philosophy

  • Ayurveda is the oldestform of medicine ever known to mankind. It is a science of preventive and curative knowledge, based on principles that date back around 5000 years for the welfare of mankind and all the living entities. Ayurveda in India has its mythological origin and was the divine science known to gods. This was transferred by Lord Indra to Acharya Bharadwaja. He transferred the same to other legends in an intellectual ‘Sabha’ held in the Himalayas. Acharya Agnivesha, the disciple ofAcharya Atreya authored the first book based on this knowledge, which is still available today in the form of ‘Charaka Samhita’. Ayurveda evolved as an Upveda 0f the Atharvaveda. It has a much wider span and does not limit itself only to the human race. There are other forms of Ayurveda like ‘Ashvayarveda’ for horses, ‘Vrakshayarveda’ for The Plant kingdom, ‘Hastyayurveda ’ for elephants as well.
  • Ayurveda is enriched with the knowledge of preventive methods for diseases, disease caasingfactors and treatment modalities. Ayurveda is based on the threefunctional elements called as the Doshas namely ‘Vata’, ‘Pitta’ and ‘Kapha’, these along with ‘Dhatas’ and ‘Malas’ contribute in disease developmentprocess. Ayurveda has classified the intricate diseases very minutely and to its atmostpragmatic extent, still havinga provision to adapt and implement any newly developing clinical conditions which may not find a direct resemblance in any of the classical texts. Thus it can treat any of the clinical conditions once interpreted in the terms of ‘Doshas’. Ayarvedic formulations are time tested without any apparent change in the formulation and capability. Treatments are based on herbs, shrubs, metals, minerals and certain products from animal kingdom as well. Even complex molecules like cobra venom are also used in difi‘erent clinical conditions.
  • Ayurveda has the most flourished drug delivery system. A lot of options are explained in which an herb, metal or a mineral can actually be processed and utilized as a medicine. For an example, a simple medicine like Azadirachta Indica (neem) can be processed in cliflerentforms like Ghee, Oil, Decoction, Arishta, Fresh Crude, Choorna, Mashi and Ghana. This versatility takes the Physicians a step ahead as he/she can mix any two herbs in a desiredproportion and form ( or create) a third combination tailored according to the patients need. Every Ayarvedicprescription is an exemplar of a sartorial medicine. In Ayurveda, precious metals like Gold and Silver are used in chronic conditions and these aid quicker results as compared to simple herbal managements. Mercury is a key to the Mineral kingdom. Metals and Minerals are subjected to purification procedures. Now these purified metals are subjected to heat in a furnace at variable degrees of temperature, properly using cow dung cakes, till the time they are transformed to a safe and easily bio—availableform called as 'Bhasma'. Bhasmas are completely safe and the mostpotentform of medicine available today.
